May 26: When Omar Vizquel Became Relevant Again

It wasn't at all clear why Omar Vizquel remained a rostered Major League Baseball player.

↵Until Saturday afternoon in Arlington, Texas.

↵Before Saturday, the 45-year-old Vizquel had played in only 15 games, collecting a couple of singles. Scored one run, driving home none.

↵Saturday, though, Vizquel started at second base for the Jays, went 3 for 6, and broke a 5-5 tie in the 13th inning with a clean RBI single up the middle.

↵(Of course, Josh Hamilton later mooted Vizquel’s antics).
