The Chicago Cubs have had problems with their bullpen, and ... hell, they've had problems with everything. They've had a miserable season, even by Cubs standards. But one of the biggest problems with the team has been with their bullpen. Carlos Marmol was removed from the closer's position after walking the bases loaded against the Cincinnati Reds a couple weeks ago, and then he was put on the DL with a hamstring strain.
Carlos Marmol Activated From DL
Carlos Marmol is returning to the Cubs after a hamstring issue, but he isn’t expected to close right away.

But, according to Paul Sullivan, he’s back:
Dolis to Iowa for Marmol.
The Cubs replaced Marmol in the closer's role with Rafael Dolis, who was a great choice, except for the part where he couldn't throw strikes our get strikeouts in the minor leagues. That worked out about as well as you would have figured. But even though Marmol is back, he isn't expected to jump right back in as the closer. James Russell is expected to take most of the save opportunities in the short term.
