Left-hander Ted Lilly turned 36 earlier this year. But he had gotten off to a good start for the Dodgers, posting a 3.14 ERA in his first eight starts, with just three home runs allowed in 48⅔ innings.
Ted Lilly On Disabled List With Shoulder Inflammation
The Dodgers lefthander, off to a solid start, will miss some time with a shoulder issue.
He’d done all that pitching through pain, apparently; he’s going to have to take at least the next 10 days off:

With the DL stint backdated to May 24, Lilly would be eligible to return June 8, although there’s no indication yet on how serious this inflammation is or whether he’ll need further treatment.
Michael Antonini is in his second year in the Dodgers' system after four years with the Mets. He's got a 5.31 ERA in nine appearances (eight starts) at Triple-A Albuquerque. This Dodgers.com article says Nathan Eovaldi will be recalled to take Lilly's scheduled start on Tuesday and that Antonini's stint with the club is expected to last just the one day.
A cuppa coffee in the majors, indeed.
