Wednesday night, WEEI's Rob Bradford was subbing for Red Sox analyst Jerry Remy. Here's the exchange between Don Orsillo and Bradford when ex-BoSox Josh Reddick came up in the first inning:
With All Due Respect ...
Orsillo: Great opportunity, it appears, for Josh Reddick to have a chance to play every day. He’s batting third in this Oakland A’s lineup.
Bradford: Yeah. He’s not going to be hitting third for a lot of major-league teams, but good for him for getting the opportunity here. That’s not a knock on Josh Reddick, of course.
No, of course not. Why would anyone think that?
After the jump, a look at the throwback uniforms on display last night at Fenway ...
The theme was 1936, the year the Philadelphia A's traded Jimmie Foxx to the Red Sox. Here's Daniel Bard:
Bard looked great, as did Oakland/Philadelphia's Brandon McCarthy, so angular and old-timey ...
But both would have looked even better if they’d donned the protypical stirrups, instead of those substitutes.
