The first part of that headline probably won't take you by surprise. The second part of that headline might take you by surprise, in case you'd forgotten that Eric Chavez plays for the Yankees. If you hadn't forgotten that, then probably none of the headline is surprising.
Eric Chavez Placed On Disabled List By Yankees
The New York Yankees have placed Eric Chavez on the seven-day concussion disabled list after he messed himself up on Wednesday.

Wednesday, Chavez attempted a diving play in the field. He seemed to be fine, but a little later on, he experienced dizziness while batting and had to be removed. He was sent for tests, and now we’ve got this:
Yankees roster moves: Jayson Nix to active roster; Eric Chavez to 7-day concussion DL; Joba Chamberlain to 60-day DL

Always scary, always worrisome. And just another thing for Eric Chavez, who didn't need just another thing. Eric Chavez has been through enough things in his life.
Chavez is the presumably proud owner of an .884 OPS off the Yankees’ bench. He’s filled in at third base, and also DH’d. Jayson Nix can also play third base, but unlike Chavez, he’s right-handed. He’s been mediocre in limited time in triple-A, and mediocre in the majors as well. The Yankees probably won’t look for Jayson Nix to do too much.
