Troy Tulowitzki Starts Rehab Assignment
Fortunately for the team, “Tulo” is on his way back. He’s going to begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Colorado Springs. Troy Renck:
Tulowitzki is eligible to come off the disabled list Friday, but Sunday or Tuesday are more realistic dates.
Tulowitzki is expected to remain with the Sky Sox, playing Thursday and likely Friday in Las Vegas. That would leave him in position to return to the big leagues either in Detroit or possibly Tuesday in Philadelphia when the Rockies open a three-game series there.
“I feel really good,” said Tulowitzki, who has hit in batting practice and fielded groundballs with no issues.

If Tulowitzki comes back strong in the middle of June, this shouldn’t hurt the Rockies much. But they’re already 11½ games out of first place, and Tulowitzki’s been fantastic lately, with four home runs and 11 RBI in his last nine games. And after getting off to a shaky start in the field -- he’s already made more errors this spring than he made all of last season -- he’s gotten back to his usual self, defensively.
