College World Series 2012: Arizona Wary Of FSU Bats

The Florida State Seminoles pounded Stanford in the Tallahassee Super Regional to earn their 21st trip to the NCAA College World Series. The Seminoles put up 35 runs in just two games so it’s no surprise the Arizona Wildcats are cognizant of the FSU offense.

“Don’t leave anything down the middle, because they’ll hit it,” Arizona pitcher Kurt Heyer, who will take the mound against FSU, told the Arizona Daily Star on Monday. “If we stick to our game plan, they’ll make a lot of ground-ball outs.”

Heyer will need to be on his game on Friday night as the Seminoles have made it a habit of beating up on pitchers who can’t find their spots. Florida State ranks seventh in the country in on-base percentage (.406) and beat up on the No. 8 overall pick in the MLB draft in their first matchup with Stanford.
