Matthew Stafford and Austin Jackson are the present and future of Detroit sports, but they also knew each other as youngsters in Denton, Texas.
From Texas To Detroit
↵Here’s what it was like to play against a teenaged Jackson:
↵“(Jackson) was awesome. He was a freak. He put a couple third basemen in the hospital. He was a dead pull hitter, just like he is now, but he was such a threat to bunt, because he was so fast, that people would play in on him and he’d rip it down third with a metal bat.”↵I always forget that every single one of these guys used to play with metal bats. Cripes.
