Jason Bay hurt himself diving after a ball in Citi Field. Again.

I don't watch every Mets game, so I can't make a definitive list of the all the times Jason Bay has laid out for a fly ball twisting toward the left-field foul line. But I do know the last two times I've seen that sort of thing.

The first:

That was on April 23. Runs scored, and Bay fractured a rib. He returned recently, and this is from Friday:

Jay Bruce hit it, and scampered around the bases for an inside-the-park home run. Bay had to leave the game with an unknown injury. He limped off the field, and he was replaced by Scott Hairston.

On the one hand, you have to appreciate the all-out effort that Bay gives. On the other hand, quit doing that, dammit.

Bay is hitting .187/.253/.373 in 75 at-bats this season, including a 2-for-25 stretch since returning from the rib injury, though he did hit a home run off Jeremy Hellickson on Thursday.
