Freddy Galvis Suspended After Positive PED Test
Injured Phillies infielder Freddy Galvis is looking at a 50-game suspension after testing positive for a metabolite of Clostebol, which is an anabolic androgenic steroid.

Clostebol is an anabolic androgenic steroid, and you’re not allowed to have those in you if you play major-league baseball. So, knowingly or unknowingly, Galvis broke the rules, and now he’s facing a suspension. On the plus side, Galvis can serve his suspension while on the disabled list, which is a bizarre and stupid loophole, but just because a PED suspension is over doesn’t mean a PED suspension is forgotten.
Over 200 plate appearances on the season, Galvis has posted a 65 OPS+. Yes, I know, the jokes.
