Phillies infielder Freddy Galvis tested positive for a metabolite of a steroid, and when that happens, a player gets suspended by Major League Baseball. Galvis was asked to explain his situation, and he says he doesn’t understand how this happened. So either Galvis is telling the truth and something’s gone awry, or Galvis doesn’t have any qualms with lying to the media. I genuinely don’t know. I’m just here to report the facts. Galvis claims that he’s innocent, or at least that he didn’t ingest a PED on purpose. Suspended players usually say that, and probably not all of them are being truthful, but probably not all of them are lying, either, so we don’t know the truth about Galvis. The only truth we do know about Galvis is that he’s been suspended for a positive PED test, and now it’s up to him to deal with his new reality.
