2012 College World Series: South Carolina, Kent State Postponed Due To Weather

South Carolina and Kent State were set to square off in an elimination game at the 2012 College World Series Wednesday, but inclement weather delayed those plans.

Rain hit TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha roughly an hour before first pitch Wednesday and was expected to continue through the night. The teams will now face off Thursday morning with first pitch scheduled for 12:08 p.m. ET.

South Carolina will try to keep their hopes for a third consecutive national title alive Thursday. The Gamecocks had their 22-game postseason winning streak snapped Monday when they lost to Arkansas. Kent State is looking to win their second straight elimination game after defeating No. 1 national seed Florida on Monday.

The winner of Thursday morning’s game will have a quick turnaround as they will face Arkansas at 9:00 p.m. ET Thursday night.
