The Yankees figured that they'd have a heckuva one-two punch at the top of the rotation this season with CC Sabathia and Michael Pineda. But the latter is out for the season with a shoulder injury, and the former is on his way to the disabled list. From MLB.com:
CC Sabathia Injury: Groin Strain Shelves Yankees Ace
CC Sabathia will miss two weeks and a pair of starts after hitting the DL with a groin strain.

The Yankees are placing CC Sabathia on the disabled list with a Grade 1 strain of the adductor muscle near his left leg.
They are expecting Sabathia to miss two starts and will return after the All-Star break. Freddy Garcia will take Sabathia’s place in the rotation.
Unlike the Pineda injury, though, this is supposed to be a minor, precautionary move to prevent something bigger down the line. Er, something worse down the line.
Sabathia didn’t make it out of the sixth inning of his last start, throwing 112 pitches, allowing five runs (one earned), and receiving a no-decision.
By law, I have to make you aware of the fact that Spiderman flew out of CC Sabathia's bottom last week.

Is this responsible for the groin strain? Look, we’re just reporting. You have to decide on your own.
