I’ll Have Another To Lead 2012 Belmont Post Parade

Despite the shocking news that Belmont-favorite and Triple-Crown contender I’ll Have Another would retire, the colt will still lead the Belmont post parade on Saturday.

I’ll Have Another will lead the post parade for Saturday’s Belmont Stakes (G1), with jockey Mario Gutierrez scheduled to be aboard. The decision to lead the post parade was made by his connections, who announced the colt’s retirement due to an injury described as tendonitis to his left front leg.

While it might seem peculiar for I’ll Have Another to lead the post parade given the injury, veterinary surgeon Larry Bramlage said that it shouldn’t be much of a concern given it’s at half-speed and not a maximum effort type of activity.
