Russia may have steamrolled their way past the Czech Republic during their opening match of Euro 2012, but things aren’t going all their way. Their fans were rather boisterous during the victory, to the point that UEFA had to step in:
UEFA Opening Disciplinary Proceedings Against Russian Football Union
UEFA are opening disciplinary proceedings against the RFS over the behaviour of Russia fans during their 4-1 win against the Czech Republic.

After having looked at the security reports and available images, UEFA has today announced that disciplinary proceedings have been opened against the Football Union of Russia (RFS) for the improper conduct of its supporters (crowd disturbances), the setting off and throwing of fireworks and the display of illicit banners.
It’s unclear just how harsh the sanctions will be, but we’ll learn that in fairly short order -- UEFA will have a disciplinary meeting about the issue on June 13th. The elephant in the room, however, is buried at the bottom of UEFA release:
In addition, regarding reports of alleged abuse directed at Czech Republic players from Russia fans, UEFA is investigating this further and is working with FARE to collect more evidence.
If FARE are involved, this is about racial abuse, presumably toward Czech right back Theodor Gebre Selassie. With the tournament already partially marred by the accusations of the Dutch team of racial abuse directed toward them during a training session, expect UEFA to come down hard on the RFS if they can prove that Gebre Selassie was abused on Friday.
