Three things you might not know: First, the Nationals don’t just race foam presidents around between innings, they also have a gag where Teddy Roosevelt always manages to lose. He’s apparently the Trix Rabbit of presidents.
Bane Of The Nationals’ Existence
Second: There’s an entire website devoted to this, and it’s fantastic.
Third: Via that same website, we see that Teddy Roosevelt dressed up as Bane, and he was taken out by Batman Abraham Lincoln. Oh. Some thoughts:
Look, I get this is all a gag. It’s all in good fun. Shouldn’t take it seriously. But what is Bruce Wayne? A man of enormous privilege who eschews the trappings of the typical millionaire socialite to help people and go into public service. Gee, who does that sound like?
Teddy M.F. Roosevelt, that’s who. Roosevelt should be the one in the cowl, and he should take out Bane Thomas Jefferson, mostly because Roosevelt hated Thomas Jefferson. Having anyone other than Roosevelt as Batman is a disgrace.
Also, I’m not saying the Nationals need to implement my rocket-powered foam FDR idea, but they could at least respond to my letters.
