R.I.P. Bob Creamer

Wednesday, Robert W. Creamer died. He had recently turned 90.

↵Creamer worked at Sports Illustrated for decades, and also gave us two brilliant baseball biographies, classic works on Babe Ruth and Casey Stengel. I know people who knew Creamer, and from everything I’ve heard he was a truly splendid man.

↵The obituaries don’t seem to have been published yet, but here are a remembrance by a longtime colleague and an interview from just last year.
