Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Eric Wright was arrested in Los Angeles early Monday morning on suspicion of felony driving under the influence. According to the Los Angeles Times, Wright's arrest stemmed from an injury accident near the Staples Center in downtown L.A.

Following Wright’s Mercedes had an accident with a pickup truck sometime after midnight. Wright told police on the scene that he had been drinking prior to the accident. He refused to take a breathalyzer test. Wright was not hurt in the accident, but the driver of the pickup complained of pain though he ultimately refused treatment. He was booked on a felony charge because the accident involved injuries.

Wright signed a five-year, $38 million contract with the Buccaneers this spring, after spending one season with the Detroit Lions. He was a second-round pick by the Cleveland Browns in 2007, and spent the first four years of his career there.
