Denver Nuggets forward Al Harrington is still getting through a tumultuous offseason full of injuries and health issues. Harrington had surgery to repair a torn meniscus shortly after the Nuggets first round Game 7 loss to the Lakers. But he contracted a nasty staph infection that, according to the power forward, took multiple surgeries on his right knee to correct. It's an issue he has dealt with all summer, including an operation most recently on Monday.

The knee problems have unexpectedly put his status in jeopardy for the start of the 2012 season. InsideHoops.com caught up with him at Las Vegas Summer League where he was spotted on crutches. It sounds like he’ll likely miss the preseason but hopes to be back for the tip off of the regular season:
I’ll be ready for the first game of the season. I don’t think I’ll be ready for training camp. First game of the season is my goal. I think I can make it happen.
