We’ve arrived at Week 12 of THIS WEEK IN GIFs, and the field is strong as ever. Vote, and help us determine the greatest sports GIF of the last seven days.
For the next two weeks, we'll be running special, 100 percent-Olympics editions of THIS WEEK IN GIFs, so the GIF TOURNAMENT will have to wait until after that. Anyway, let's get to this week's impressive field of GIFs. To kick things off, here's myself, Matt Ufford, and special guest Amy K. Nelson picking our favorites:

Tiger Woods hit a golf ball, which has happened only about five or six times in PGA Tour history, so you can’t blame the crowd from going crazy over this ball he hit. It’s like watching a mob of people dive for a foul ball that they suddenly remember they aren’t supposed to touch. You kind of have to wonder what all these people thought the payoff would be.

The way this GIF is cut makes it look like it’s a moment in time that’s going on perpetually. And hey, if you ever get eternally stuck within a three-second window in time, you’d better hope you’re as happy about it as this dude.

This GIF is sort of one-dimensional, and that’s okay. POWWWW. I have done this exact thing on a four-wheeler before, and I would risk doing so again, because power-sliding on a four-wheeler is basically the most fun thing you can possibly do.

The shaky cam, the tense mannerisms, and the explosion of dirt at the end. It looks like he’s trying to defuse a bomb.
ANDRE IGUODALA
Once again, the weirdass FIBA ball is throwing me off. It looks like some sort of trick ball, although that’s due in part to all the crazy stuff these guys are doing with it. Generally speaking, one blocks an opponent’s shot, he doesn’t just up and catch it.

Hell yes. Let’s talk about hot dogs for a moment. I present to you two axioms:
- There could not possibly be anything especially noteworthy about a Dodger Dog, and anyone who says otherwise is full of shit.
- The wiener is actually the least important element of the hot dog. This isn't a bratwurst we're talking about. The hot dog is a delivery agent for what's really important: mustard, sauerkraut, chili, what have you.
