↵Here’s the thing, though: According to Baseball-Reference.com, Wimpy never pitched in a higher minor league than the Class B Illinois-Iowa-Indiana League ... and his ERA in the 3-I League was 6.00 in only 189 innings. So what did the Cubs see in him?
