Tarvaris Jackson Will Hit Trade Block Soon, According To Report

The Seattle Seahawks have reportedly decided to check what Tarvaris Jackson is worth on the trading block, provided Matt Flynn and Russell Wilson are able to stay healthy this week.

Tarvaris Jackson began his professional career playing for the Minnesota Vikings, but his playing time lessened over the course of five seasons with the team, so he signed with the Seattle Seahawks as a a free agent last season. It seems as though their experiment with Jackson as the starting quarterback won't last quite as long, however, as there are rumors that the former Alabama State standout is nearing the trading block.

The 29-year-old Jackson started 14 games for Seattle last season, leading them to a 7-7 record while throwing 14 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. The Seahawks attempted to upgrade their quarterbacks corps this offseason anyway, though, signing Matt Flynn from the Green Bay Packers and drafting Russell Wilson.

After just one preseason game, it seems the aforementioned new acquisitions have shuffled Jackson to the bottom of the depth chart and -- according to CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora -- onto the trading block.

The above two sentences likely aren’t related, but Jackson shouldn’t be too difficult to trade considering he was a full-time NFL starter last season.
