Scotland Vs. Australia, 2012 Friendly: Surprisingly A Thing!

Scotland and Australia are playing on television because reasons.

Scotland and Australia, two national teams who seem to be going backwards year after year, ever so slowly, are playing each other in an international friendly on Wednesday. Because the two teams are from English-speaking countries, you can watch the game in English-speaking countries. This is the only discernible reason why this match is on television. I'll probably watch it anyway, because I'm stupid.

If the highlight of your national side is Charlie Adam and you've recently been s-stomped by Jurgen Klinsmann's United States, there's a 99 percent chance that you stink. Scotland is also in a ridiculously nasty World Cup qualifying group, unlike their Euro 2012 qualifying group, where they stunk and were about second best anyway. Seriously, the future is dire for these guys.

Australia, meanwhile, have two draws through two games in the final stage of AFC World Cup qualifying. They need to get their stuff together quickly.

Game Date/Time: Wednesday 3 p.m. ET, 8 p.m. local

Venue: Hampden Park, Scotland, England

TV: Sky Sports 1 (U.K.) (I’m not joking), Sportsnet (Canada) (Wait, seriously?)

Streaming: ESPN3 (U.S.)

We’ll have live updates of this and other friendlies on Wednesday in our international friendlies StoryStream.
