This hasn't been the best of years for Phillies third baseman Placido Polanco; he's had two stints on the disabled list, the most recent one with a back injury.
Phillies Activate Placido Polanco From DL
The Phillies’ third baseman will return Monday from a back injury.

However, beginning Monday he’ll return to the Phillies:
Hector Luna was optioned to clear space for Placido Polanco, who will be activated Monday.
Polanco is hitting just .255/.300/.328 in 90 games for the Phillies this season; it’s the worst offensive season of his career and gives him an OPS+ of just 69. He’ll be 37 years old not long after the Phillies’ “annus horribilis” ends, and he’s got a contract option for $8.5 million for 2013, with a $1 million buyout. It’s not hard to guess which of those choices the Phillies will make, given that they’re far out of contention and will need to do quite a bit of retooling to get back there in 2013.
