The Oakland Athletics have had somewhat of a charmed year. Not expected to contend for a postseason spot, they currently stand just half a game out of one of the two wild-card spots. A part of that success has been due to the solid pitching of 39-year-old Bartolo Colon.
Bartolo Colon Fails Drug Test, Subject To 50-Game Suspension
Another MLB player has been reported to have failed a drug test.

But according to a report from CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman, the A’s might have to do without Colon for the rest of the season:
Veteran A's pitcher Bartolo Colon failed an MLB drug test and is subject to a 50-game suspension, CBSSports.com has learned.
Colon resurrected his career after a controversial stem-cell treatment. He is 10-9 with a 3.43 ERA for the A's this year after going 8-10 with a 4.00 ERA with the Yankees last year.
There’s no word yet on what sort of drug test was failed, when this suspension would begin, or whether Colon might attempt an appeal, as most players do.
