Bill Belichick’s Comments Are Hard To Handle

Bill Hanstock
Bill Hanstock is a writer, author and Emmy Award-winning producer. He began writing for SB Nation in 2011.

On a recent book tour, Warren Sapp dropped an eye-opening comment that should in no means be slept on (none of these puns are intended, by the way). Via Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk, Sapp appeared on The Scott Van Pelt Show on Tuesday and talked about having a conversation with then-Cleveland Browns coach Bill Belichick in 1995. Belichick supposedly told Sapp, "I wanna draft you so bad that I have an erection right now." Prepare yourself for the inevitable fallout.

Clearly, as with all other innovations made by Belichick, referencing your own erection will become the hot new fad for football head coaches across the country when trying to lure than big prospect, recruit, draft target or free agent. Other coaches will put their own personal spin on it, of course:

- Pete Carroll will invite Snoop Dogg to participate in an elaborate and delightful erection prank.

- Nick Saban will try to impress high-schoolers with his fancy new remote-control erection.

- Chan Gailey gives prospects a home-baked pie and insists he take them to Sunday services.

- Rex Ryan will call top prospects at random to tell them all about his erection in loving detail. You know, just because.
