Yu Darvish's first year in Major League Baseball hasn't gone exactly how he -- or the Rangers, who spent many millions of dollars for him both in a posting fee and to Darvish himself -- had hoped.
Yu Darvish Will Miss Thursday Start
The Japanese Rangers star has some minor tightness, and so will miss a start.

After a good first half, Darvish has posted a 6.60 ERA in seven starts since the All-Star break, and that comes with a moderately high 1.556 WHIP. He’s still striking out a lot of hitters -- 55 in 45 innings since the break -- but getting hit pretty hard when he isn’t doing that.
Now, there might be an explanation for some of that poor performance. Jeff Wilson:
The Rangers have decided to skip Yu Darvish's next start Thrusday and push him back to Tuesday after the right-handed complained of tightness in his right quadriceps during his between-starts bullpen session.
Roy Oswalt will start the opener against Minnesota on normal rest after working Saturday at Toronto.
Wilson’s article says Darvish claims he isn’t injured, but just needs extra rest. At this stage of the season, with the Rangers likely headed to the postseason, that’s not a bad idea.
