Barcelona Vs. Real Madrid, 2012 Spanish Super Cup: Alvaro Arbeloa Does A Crazy Thing

Dani Alves has been pretty good for Barcelona today, and he causes some hilarious havoc in the Real Madrid back line when he scampers onto a pass and sends a floating cross to the back stick for Alexis Sanchez to dive at try to get his head on. Sanchez is thwarted, thanks to the intervention of Alvaro Arbeloa, who takes a rather cavalier approach to defending that involves chesting the ball against his own goalpost.

That was... interesting. Alves tries to go it alone shortly thereafter having been put through by Lionel Messi, and his shot looks destined for the bottom corner before Iker Casillas intervenes, the big goalkeeper flinging himself at the ball to push it just wide.

It's still 1-1, but Jose Mourinho's hoping to change that. Karim Benzema is off, Gonzalo Higuain on. Let's see if the Argentinian has any more luck than his French teammate.
