Chicago White Sox pitcher Gavin Floyd will have an MRI on his right elbow and will not travel with the team to Baltimore on Monday, according to MLB.com White Sox beat writer Scott Merkin. Floyd exited Sunday's game after only two innings due to elbow discomfort.

This ailment is not the first issue Floyd has had with that right elbow this season as a bout with tendinitis landed him on the DL in July. According to Scott Powers of ESPN Chicago, manager Robin Ventura would not be surprised to see Floyd miss his next scheduled start. Powers writes that Floyd felt discomfort early on in the game, and he hopes that the issue is less serious this time around.

“It was same area, same kind of discomfort. It might have been as intense as it was when I went on the DL. Like I said, I just hope it, I just pray it’s something I can bounce back real quick.”

Floyd is 9-9 with a 4.55 ERA for Chicago this season.
