White Sox righthander Gavin Floyd left Sunday's game after just two innings. Given the fact that it was dismal and raining in Chicago Sunday, a pitcher might be forgiven if he was happy to get in out of the rain.
Gavin Floyd Hits DL With Elbow Strain
The White Sox have lost a starting pitcher to elbow troubles.

Floyd and the White Sox, though, aren’t happy after this announcement from the team Tuesday:
Prior to tonight’s game at Baltimore, the Chicago White Sox placed right-handed pitcher Gavin Floyd on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to August 27) with a right elbow flexor strain and recalled right-handed pitcher Dylan Axelrod from Class AAA Charlotte.
This will be the second time this season that Floyd has had a DL stint with right elbow troubles; he was also out in late July for the same reason. Given the fact that after he came back, he struggled through seven starts with a 4.58 ERA and 22 walks in 35⅓ innings, perhaps it’s best for the White Sox to rest him for at least 15 days.
