Los Angeles Angels manager Mike Scioscia filed a protest Friday after he disagreed with a questionable call at first base.
Angels Play White Sox Under Protest
A questionable call at first base cost the Angels three runs, so Mike Scioscia and the Angels filed a protest.

The play occurred in the bottom of the first inning. With the bases loaded, Paul Konerko hit a ground ball to third. Alberto Callaspo threw home to get the lead runner, then catcher Chris Iannetta threw to first to attempt the double play. Konerko was ruled safe when the throw went wide and pulled Albert Pujols off the bag.
Scioscia argued Konerko was not within the baseline the last 45 feet, but the umpires upheld the safe call after conferring. Scioscia argued the call again and, after another meeting between the umpires, Konerko was again ruled safe.
The call turned out to be an important one as A.J. Pierzynski hit a three-run home run with two outs in the inning.
