As the final month of the regular season arrives and the New York Yankees battle for an American League East crown, the team lost their starting center fielder against the Orioles on Saturday afternoon. Curtis Granderson was lifted in the with a tight hamstring and will undergo an MRI, according to the Yankees.

Granderson appeared to tweak his hamstring while batting in the first inning. The injury is not believed to be serious, but any kind of knee or leg issue is always a concern when dealing with a speedy outfielder.

It does not appear that Granderson will miss more than a day or two, although the club will hold their breath until the MRI results come in. The 31-year-old outfielder is having another terrific season in New York, batting .235 with 34 homers, 79 runs batted in, nine steals and a .810 OPS.
