VIDEO: Brandon Weeden Gets Trapped Under An American Flag

You know when it feels like the universe is just out to torture you? Well, the Browns kicked off the 2012 campaign Sunday with a heartbreaking home loss to the Eagles, and their 28-year-old rookie QB began his career by getting himself trapped under an American flag. What a great sentence.

The video:

Weeden went 12-35 on the day with 118 yards, 4 interceptions, 1 fumble, and a 5.1 QB rating. So the flag highlight was clearly an omen, and definitely my favorite highlight of the first football weekend. How does that even happen? And how did it never happen to Gus Frerotte?

In any case, things can only get better from here, Brandon Weeden. (Right?) (Maybe?)

“I was expecting to get a little warning,” he said afterward. “Next thing I know there’s about a 100-yard flag over the top of me. I sat on my hands and knees and kind of waited — me and one of the equipment managers.”

“I looked at him and said, ‘this (stinks).’” On that note, welcome to the Browns!
