The Chicago Blackhawks have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with defenseman Michal Rozsival, the team announced via their official website on Tuesday. There's no contract numbers at this point, but there often isn't when it's coming straight from the team. Rozsival has played for the New York Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins and most recently, the Phoenix Coyotes.
Michal Rozsival Signs Contract With Chicago Blackhawks
The Chicago Blackhawks have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with Michal Rozsival, who spent last season with the Phoenix Coyotes.
Phoenix traded for Rozsival on Jan. 10, 2011, sending Wotjek Wolski to the Rangers. He only recorded six points over the final stretch of that season. In 2011-12, Rozsival had 13 points (one goal and 12 assists) and a +8 plus/minus rating in 54 games with Phoenix. He also amassed 34 penalty minutes, and helped the Coyotes reach the 2012 Western Conference Final for the first time in franchise history.
Rozsival is 34 years old and is mostly being signed for defenseman depth thanks to his wealth of experience. He’s represented his country twice at the World Championships, including a run at the gold medal in 2010. He had two assists and four PIM in nine games during that run.
