Say goodbye to Mocking The Draft and hello to SB Nation NFL Draft

Recently, you may have seen the other SB Nation sites get a new logo or talk about something called SB Nation United. It’s a wonderful new program intended to launch SB Nation to the next level.

The impact of SB Nation United will be evident pretty soon. The way you digest content on SBN sites will change (for the better). But that change also means something is happening with your favorite little NFL Draft site that could.

You haven’t seen us talk about a fancy new logo (despite one existing) or cluing you in on SB Nation United. That’s because the finer folks from SBNation.com have decided that our content will be running on SBNation.com. You can keep the site bookmarked, but it will soon forward to the new site.

It’s an exciting opportunity to allow our work to reach a wider audience. It will also let us coordinate more openly with the ace staff at SBNation.com.

For you, the reader, there will change. I would love to tell you about what those changes are, but we’re still hammering out the details. In an effort to make the site as user-friendly as possible, I am open to suggestions. Please email me with what you want to see – dankadar[at]yahoo.com.

But for now, before it meets its maker, lets say goodbye to our little cerulean- and green-laden site with the strangest logo ever. For real, a kicker is in our logo? A kicker?!?

Anyway, I joined SB Nation leading up to the 2009 NFL Draft. I did so because I believed in the future of the company and the back-end tech they utilized. Initially, there was no interest in resurrecting the dormant draft site. But thanks in part to the urging of the great Brad Wells, whom I now can consider a friend, the site was restarted. Since then, our traffic has grown each year. The amount of work we do has grown each year. Our outside media requests have grown each year. Our credibility has grown each year. You guys, I wrote the player analysis for USA Today’s draft guide this year. How amazing, right?

In running the site, we also built up a nice little community of year-round genius readers dedicated to the NFL Draft. You have no idea how many times your comments and input forced me to turn a game back on and reevaluate my opinion on a player. Some of you have been here since I started. Some of you have just joined. My only plea is that you join us at the new site. I promise you won’t be let down.

I could go through a litany of thank yous to writes and contributors or people from SB Nation, but we’re not really going anywhere, dammit. So lets finish this up. To close, I should tell you I’ve never been much for quotes. They’re a crutch for the lazy mind. But before I see you over at our SBNation.com home, I’ll finish with this from 18th century German scientist Georg C. Lichtenberg:

I cannot say whether things will get better if we change; what I can say is they must change if they are to get better.

Onward and upward!

This player should be a plug-and-play replacement for Mekhi Becton right off the bat.

He’s a bit of a liability in the run game, but his potential in the pass game was enough for Buffalo Rumblings.
