John Abraham Arrested For ‘Obstruction Of Police And Fire Officers’

For the second time in a week, a Falcons player has been arrested. What’s going on in Atlanta?

Presswire

Atlanta Falcons defensive end John Abraham was arrested by Atlanta police on Monday night, and faces charges of obstruction of police and obstruction of fire fighters. Abraham was set to be booked at the Fulton County jail.

According to John Chaffee of the Atlanta Police Department’s Public Affairs Unit, police and fire officials responded to a call about a woman threatening to jump from a Midtown building. Abraham refused to exit the scene and was subsequently arrested.

Chaffee said that the woman did not jump and was not injured. She was taken to a local hospital.

Abraham is the second Falcon to have a run-in with the law in a week. Last Tuesday, running back Michael Turner was booked by Gwinnett County police for DUI and speeding.

Atlanta is 3-0 this season and coming off a 27-3 win over the San Diego Chargers. Abraham has five tackles and is tied for the team lead with two sacks.
