Clemson’s Tajh Boyd led the Tigers’ offensive attack, accounting for 409 offensive yards and four touchdowns. The quarterback threw for 367 yards on a 28-for-38 performance with three touchdowns and a pick while rushing for 42 yards and a score.
Boston College also performed well through the air, as Eagles quarterback Chase Rettig completed 25 of 43 passes for three touchdowns and a pair of interceptions. Those interceptions, however, as well as Boston College’s difficulties on the ground, would be keys to the Clemson victory. BC averaged only 1.8 yards per carry on the night, with a team rushing total of just 51 yards.
