The Los Angeles Angels knocked off the Oakland Athletics, 6-1, on Tuesday, their second straight win against the A's. Oakland had won its previous nine games before losing to Los Angeles on Monday.

Zack Greinke (13-5, 3.72 ERA) got the win for the Angels, allowing one earned run over seven innings. Grienke has now picked up a win in four of his last five starts. His start on Tuesday was much better than his first outing against Oakland this season when he allowed four runs over five innings.

The Angels got on the board first, scoring a run in both the fifth and sixth innings. Los Angeles extended its lead with two runs in the eighth inning before tacking on two more in the top of the ninth. Four different Angels finished with at least two hits, including Mike Trout and Albert Pujols.

Athletics rookie Jarrod Parker (9-8, 3.67 ERA) took the loss despite allowing two earned runs over seven innings. Oakland scored just one run, a Brandon Moss solo home run in the seventh inning, in support of Parker.

With the loss, Oakland falls into a three-way tie with the Orioles and Yankees for the American League wild card lead. Baltimore and New York are also tied for the AL East lead, so Oakland is currently holding one of the two wild card spots. Los Angeles now sits three and a half games back, but will also have to jump the Tampa Bay Rays who trail Oakland by 1½ games.

The two teams will play the final game of their three game series Wednesday with first pitch scheduled for 3:35 p.m. ET.
