After a blockbuster offseason where the New York Knicks signed difference-maker Jason Kidd and jettisoned that good-for-nothing albatross Jeremy Lin, they figured it was time to get their diehard fanbase really pumped up. On Thursday, the public got their first glimpse of the brand-new Knicks uniforms. It's gonna be a bold new season, New York!
Get Excited About The New Knicks Uniforms!
Ian Begley of ESPN New York and Seth over at Posting and Toasting both gave us preview shots of the new Knicks ensembles. Prepare to be blown away:
As you can see, some massive changes here. Posting and Toasting offers the full rundown, but the biggest difference is that the jerseys have gone from a V-collar to a more traditional, rounded collar. Take that, stupid Brooklyn Nets!
These new unis will likely provide the Knicks with that boost they need to get over the hump and win their third NBA championship. Easy to see why they were willing to let Lin go, with swank duds like these already in the pipeline. Just go ahead and pencil in a Knicks-Thunder Finals. That'll be exciting.
Darren Rovell also provided a picture of the inside of the collar, which has “ONCE A KNICK, ALWAYS A KNICK.” printed on it. That sentiment will likely be very inspiring to Kidd as the brand-new Knicks point guard enters his 75th season in the NBA. Now he knows that he’ll always have a home in the “Big Apple!”
Not Mike D`Antoni, though. That dude can get right the hell out of town.
