In an apparent overflow of frustrations in the nation's capital, the Washington Nationals and Chicago Cubs have gotten into a pair of on-field incidents during Thursday night's game. The Nationals are currently leading as they look to complete a four-game sweep over the reeling Cubbies.

The initial conflict began when Cubs bench coach Jamie Quirk and Nationals third base coach Bo Porter entered into an argument, ultimately leading to a bench-clearing dispute between the two teams. The umpires eventually cleared things up and ejected Quirk from the game before letting play continue.

That didn't last too long before things boiled over again, though, after Cubs pitcher Lendy Castillo came close to hitting Bryce Harper with a pitch:

During that incident, Cubs catcher Steve Clevenger threw punches at different Nationals players, leading to his ejection. Welington Castillo was brought in to take over for Clevenger, the only player ejected. Currently in the seventh inning, the Nationals are leading 9-2.
