Senior Bowl 2013: Ezekiel Ansah turning heads

The defensive end from BYU is still relatively new to football, but has the skillset and athleticism to be a true difference-maker in the NFL.

USA TODAY Sports

Ezekiel Ansah didn't begin playing football until three years ago, but he's just months away from being selected in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft. The BYU defensive end is a native of Ghana, and despite his inexperience, he was turning heads all week at the Senior Bowl.

At 6'6, 270 pounds, he draws comparisons to Jason Pierre-Paul and Jevon Kearse. Even though he's blessed with outlandish physical gifts, Ansah is staying humble and is eager to get better. Via the National Football Post:

"I just try to learn and try to do better and work hard. I'm learning how to relate to the coaches," Ansah said. "You don't want to make any mistakes. It's really a great competition and I really like it."

Ansah’s stat line from the 2012 season — 4.5 sacks. 13 tackles for loss, 62 tackles — is good, but isn’t amazing. He ended up with 1.5 sacks and 3.5 tackles for a loss in the Senior Bowl, and showed the unbelievable athleticism that has NFL scouts drooling over his potential.
