Marshawn Lynch injury: Seahawks RB has mild foot sprain

Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch suffered a mild foot sprain, but, according to sources, he will be listed as probable and will play against the Falcons on Sunday.

According to Seattle's 710 ESPN's Liz Mathews, Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch has suffered a mild foot sprain before the team's divisional playoff game in Atlanta against the No. 1 seed Falcons. Lynch will be listed as probable, though, according to Mathews, and he will play on Sunday.

Lynch was third in the league in rushing yards during the regular season with 1,590 yards on the ground and he was able to reach the end zone a total of 11 times. There's no question that he is the key to the Seahawks offense and is one of the main reasons rookie quarterback Russell Wilson has been successful this season.

When coach Pete Carroll was asked if there was any possibility that Lynch could miss the game on Sunday, he said no and that the only way he would miss the game is if he missed missed the team flight or just didn’t show up in Atlanta.

The Seahawks will need their workhorse running back if they want to take on Matt Ryan and one of the most explosive offenses in the league to advance to the NFC Championship game.
