Former NFL head coach Leeman Bennett will lead the West team this week at the East-West Shrine Game. Bennett served as the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons in the late 70s and early 80s, and also spent two years in charge of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the mid 80s.
East-West Shrine Game 2013 coaches: Leeman Bennett to lead West team
The former Falcons and Bucs boss will be in charge of the West team this week at the East-West Shrine Game. Here’s some information on his career.

Bennett’s Falcons teams were known for their stifling defense, as they allowed a then-NFL record 129 points over a 14 game season in 1977. His teams made it to the NFC Championship Game three times during his tenure, but failed to make it to the Super Bowl. His time in Tampa was much less notable, as consecutive 2-14 seasons were enough to finish his NFL career.
