The 2013 East-West Shrine Game kicks off on Saturday, and its practice sessions are already in full swing for the annual week-long event showcasing NFL Draft talent for scouts. Tropicana Field hosts the game on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET.

Starting in 1925 in San Francisco, the Shrine Game provides a stage for college football seniors looking to be drafted and is the oldest such all-star contest in the country. It also raises funds for the Shriners Hospitals for Children, a health care network geared specifically toward treating children..
Last year the West defeated the East, 24-17, snapping a three-year run of wins by the East team. Western Kentucky running back Bobby Rainey was an integral part of the win, and later signed as an undrafted free agent with the Baltimore Ravens.
Though many participants often go in the mid or late rounds of the draft, former Oregon Ducks quarterback Joey Harrington, who was inducted into the 2012 East-West Shrine Game Hall of Fame class, was taken with the third overall pick by the Detroit Lions back in 2002.
