East-West Shrine Game 2013: Thursday is final practice day

Thursday will be the last time that NFL Draft prospects participating in the East-West Shrine Game on Saturday take the practice field.

Alfie Crow (SB Nation)

The 2013 East-West Shrine Game is drawing nearer, as Thursday represents the final day of practice for the senior college football participants hoping to up their NFL Draft value.

SB Nation's Alfie Crow, who has been at practices throughout the week, believes Pittsburgh Panthers running back Ray Graham has been far-and-away the best back to this point, so it will be worth watching to see if he can wrap up his stellar week on the practice field.

Also worth paying attention to on Thursday are wide receivers Emory Blake of the Auburn Tigers, Keenan Davis of the Iowa Hawkeyes and college quarterback-turned-wide receiver and running back Trent Steelman from Army. Crow believes Blake has been a steadily solid pass-catcher in practice this week, while Davis could turn out to be one of the better overall offensive threats in this year's Shrine Game. Steelman is proving that his athletic ability translates to positions outside of quarterback, with Crow giving him the jack-of-all-trades "football player" label.

Defensively, Keith Pough, a linebacker from Howard, continues to draw attention and could increase his draft stock with another solid performance Thursday.

Practice on Thursday begins with the East team going from 9:40 a.m. - 11:40 a.m. ET, followed by the West squad in the afternoon from 2:40 p.m. - 4:40 p.m.

For full coverage of this year’s East-West Shrine Game, SB Nation’s Crow remains on the scene all week. Follow him here and check back on our Shrine Game hub for Thursday’s practice updates, standout players and game information.
