NFLPA Collegiate Bowl 2013: Dayne Crist named NFLPA Collegiate Bowl MVP

Kansas quarterback created two scores in blowout all-star game victory.

USA TODAY Sports

Kansas quarterback Dayne Crist was named MVP after throwing and running for touchdowns in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, leading the National team to a 34-0 victory over the American team. Crist threw seven completions for 61 yards after substituting for Washington State quarterback Jeff Tuel. He finished off an 84-yard scoring drive with a quarterback sneak, as well.

Vanderbilt quarterback Jordan Rodgers, widely considered the game's top prospect, played well despite his team being shut out. Rodgers went 8-of-11 passing for 91 yards without a touchdown or interception. Alabama State quarterback Greg Jenkins struggled under center, but played well as a wide receiver.

Louisiana Tech wide receiver Myles White caught six passes for 46 yards. Little-used Stanford wideout Jamal-Rashad Patterson caught eight passes for 86 yards, nearly matching his season totals in one game.

South Carolina kicker Adam Yates stood out on special teams, kicking two field goals from more than 40 yards.

The American team, coached by Herm Edwards, committed five turnovers, leading to the shutout.
