After Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Jay Ratliff was pulled over for driving while intoxicated in the early-morning hours on Jan. 22, a blood test revealed Ratliff's blood alcohol level to be 0.16, according to ESPN Dallas's Tim MacMahon. The legal limit for blood alcohol content is 0.08.

Per the police report, Ratliff failed three sobriety tests and did not allow officers to administer a breath test. Based on the results of the sobriety tests, officers executed a search warrant and tested the defensive tackle’s blood. The test took place roughly two and a half hours after Ratliff was pulled over.
In addition to the normal criticism associated with driving while intoxicated, Ratliff is facing extra heat due to the timing of his incident. His arrest came seven weeks after Cowboys defensive tackle Josh Brent had a wreck while driving intoxicated that killed teammate Jerry Brown. Brent was charged with intoxication manslaughter after Brown's death.
Ratliff played in just six games for the Cowboys this season, compiling 16 tackles and one tackle for loss.
