Super Bowl 2013: Joe Flacco’s brother hopes to transition from MLB to NFL
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco is living out his NFL dream, and his younger brother, Mike, hopes to do the same one day.

“I want to be there with him,” Mike said. “I see everything he’s doing on the field and off the field, I want to do the same things.”
Mike Flacco is currently an infielder and outfielder in the Baltimore Orioles’ minor-league system, but after hitting .214 last season, his baseball career has slowed. He recently participated in a training session at TEST Sports Clubs, where plenty of other young players hoping to get a shot at the NFL train. Being in that environment helped to boost Mike’s confidence:
“I’ve met some of the guys. They’re big guys, they’re intimidating for sure,” Mike said. “But as I get older, I’m maturing and they’re starting to look a little smaller.”
While he hasn’t put up mind-blowing numbers, Joe Flacco has been solid in his career as a signal-caller for the Ravens. This season, he completed 59.7 percent of his passes for 3,817 yards, a career high, and 10 touchdowns. Even though he’s had NFL success, he doesn’t think his little brother needs any of his advice:
“I don’t really have too many conversations with him about that,” Joe said. “He doesn’t need any of my encouragement. He’d probably just laugh at me if I tried doing something like that.”
