A big second half by Ty Lawson helped the Denver Nuggets earn a second straight victory and stay above the safe line for the playoffs Sunday night. Lawson scored 21 points and also dished out 10 assists as the Nuggets got a key road victory in Los Angeles over the Lakers, 112-105.

A big second half from Kobe Bryant was not enough for the Lakers to come back.


The Nuggets got several key contributions from their bench with JaVale McGee scoring 17 points and Corey Brewer adding 14. The high scoring offense also got 20 points from starter Danilo Gallinari and 15 from Andre Iguodala. Gallinari hit a huge three-pointer that essentially clinched the game in the closing seconds:
It was the third straight loss for the Lakers, who continue to trail in the Western Conference playoff race.
The Lakers kept it close most of the night but could never quite get ahead. Kobe Bryant had a big second half with 23 points to lead all scorers with 29. Dwight Howard had 14 points and a huge night rebounding with 26 rebounds. Steve Nash also had a double-double with 10 points and 13 assists.
