Chargers coaching rumors: Mike Holmgren, Bruce Arians reportedly in mix

The San Diego Chargers seem to be interested in Mike Holmgren, a former head coach, and Bruce Arians, a current offensive coordinator, to fill their coaching vacancy.

Searching for the right hire to fill their vacant head coaching position, the San Diego Chargers are reportedly interested in former Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren and current Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians, according to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora.

La Canfora reports San Diego already has intentions to interview Arians, who served as interim head coach in Indianapolis this season while head coach Chuck Pagano underwent treatment for leukemia. However, Arians has been dealing with a health issue of his own. Before the Colts' playoff loss to the Baltimore Ravens Sunday, Arians was rushed to the emergency room with a severe headache and nausea. Arians was still in the hospital Monday morning, waiting for his blood pressure to stabilize.

Holmgren has extensive head coaching experience with the Packers and Seahawks, leading Green Bay and Seattle from 1992-98 and 1999-2008, respectively. He has a 174-122 career record and led the Packers to victory in Super Bowl XXXI on Jan. 26, 1996.

According to La Canfora, UCLA head coach Jim Mora Jr. could also be in the mix, but it is uncertain how much interest he may garner.
